From an early age I was fortunate to enjoy nature for long periods of time, in the beautiful valley of Jarabacoa (La Vega), located on the northern hemisphere of the Dominican Republic. At just 7 years old, I would go out to collect flowers and I would pack them in an empty bottle, fill it with water and bury it somewhere in the patio for several days, convinced that I’d be able to make a perfume. On multiple occasions the attempts were unsuccessful, yet on those rare times when I had managed to obtain an aroma, neither good nor bad, I was filled with joy and pride by my creation and kept me going for more. Many years passed before I discovered what would be my greatest passion, the world of aromas.
Following a career in hospitality, real estate, and imports, in 2000, we began importing essential oils to local stores. Marveled by its benefits, I began my aromatherapy studies. The need to know more about them grew and in a short period of time I had created a scent collection with over a 600 variety of essential and aromatic oils to choose from.
In 2007, we developed an artisan system for the creation of personalized aromas; after several years of experience and the help of experts in the field, by collecting and crossing data, The Signature Scent. was created. To date, we have designed over 100 synergies for both private labels and our Harmony Scents & Burners and Native Oils & Spa.
In 2014, after a visit to Grasse, a French town located in the Provence-Alpes region where many of the essential oils are extracted for perfumes, I was able to connect with the true essence of aromatherapy and the wonderful gift that natural scents represents. Since then, we have promoted the use of essential oils as the first option for creating corporate and personal care aromas, knowing that they are the healthiest alternative for both customers and the environment.
In 2015 we expanded Scentcorp; by introducing to the country a new aromatization equipment with wide environmental coverage. This began one of the most important stages for our company, offering a cleaner, more efficient and practical alternative in aromatization with the most advanced technology in the international market.
I feel absolutely blessed to have the opportunity to create products that offer well-being and joy to people. To be able to expand and share this knowledge with others for their advantage is the biggest reward I have as a business owner. This path has helped me use essences for self-healing and balance, which I share and embody with the world through Nice Caribe and its brands.
